The Shamshir Persian Sword – A Powerful Weapon

Belonging to the curved sword family, the shamshir (taken from Persian terms, literally meaning “sword”) is probably the extreme manifestation of this breed of sabers because curve ranging from 5 to 15 degrees from tip-to-tip. Before they were popularized in Persia by the 16th century, the Shamshir sword was originally a tool for hunting.

The Shamshir Persian Sword made by Cold Steel is a 36 and 1/4-inch sword with a 30 and 1/2-inch blade made of high carbon steel. This nicely curved shamshir Persian sword greatly resembled the ones that were being used before. Being battle ready, the sharpness of its blade can be effective delivering different styles of thrusts. The handle is also very well made and improved with black faux buffalo horn materials.

To complete the set, this shamshir also comes with a scabbard, which is also a good replica of the original. The sword will be protected from dulling through the thick leather inside the scabbard. It also comes with a brass throat and chape for reinforcement as well as a set of suspension rings. This is one curved blade you will want to add to your medieval swords collection.
