Sterling Silver Dog Charms – Just for Fun
I see that sterling silver dog charms have come a long way. Back in the 1950s you might find a generic dog charm to clip onto your bracelet, but now it’s possible to find real artists creating lovely, realistic charms of practically every breed. One of my favorite “breed” of charms are those created by The Magic Zoo. This company doesn’t carry every single dog, but most of the popular ones are represented here. From playful pugs to sweet-faced Golden Retrievers, this site has a selection that caters to dog lovers with a taste for artistic charms.
I have discovered that sterling silver charms aren’t always this well made. In fact, you can still find cheaply crafted foreign jewelry that doesn’t have the expression or detail of these. That old datum of getting what you pay for is certainly true here. Personally I’d rather spend more money on charms that are beautiful and look like they could outlive me than pinch pennies and later find out what I thought was sterling silver turned out to be plated brass. This has actually happened to me! So I’m careful when I shop now, and make sure I buy the real thing.
