It never fails, just as I’m preparing for a large holiday gathering, I realize I don’t have the right serving dishes. It’s simply one of those things I tend to forget until I have to entertain. Then I take a look in my cabinets and find I don’t have the amount of bowls I need for the different side dishes I was planning to make. Then the holiday passes and I put it out of my mind. It’s not only because they’re so good for us, it’s that we truly enjoy eating them. Apples also make a wonderful dessert treat, whether made as a warm cinnamon cobbler or a homemade pie, served warm with a scoop of ice cream on top. Another terrific way to enjoy apples is to bake them, which you can do in large portions in a baking pan or individually in this great clay apple baker. Read the rest of this entry » »
