Last year, when I went to see my doctor, he mentioned to me that I should be drinking more water.  From an intellectual standpoint, I knew he was right, but the bottom line is that I don’t like the taste of our water.  It has a very harsh taste and it probably contains a lot of trace minerals and contaminants.  My doctor suggested buying a kitchen countertop water filter, which he said would take care of the taste and any chemical or organic residue.  He also gave me a stern warning about the consequences of not drinking enough water, so I felt compelled to follow his orders. For a long time I’ve been meaning to get a programmable coffeemaker. I would love to get up in the morning and have my hot coffee waiting for me. We finally did it!  We got rid of using plastic water bottles and got ourselves an Aquasana AQ-4000 Counter top water filter. It all started with our daughter coming home from school and explaining to us how much those plastic water bottles are contributing to our landfills.  She also explained how expensive they are. I love it when I find a crockpot version of one of our favorite dishes. That’s why I got excited when I came across this crockpot hamburger stroganoff recipe and couldn’t wait to give it a try. It was simple to make and a big hit at dinner time. It’s since been a regular on my meal plan. I’d say that on average I make it about twice a month. It’s just one of those good “stick to your bones” kind of meals. You don’t really need much of a side dish with this.
